Join me in Amsterdam on March 11, 2026
Jan 31, 2026For school leaders, assessment often feels like a paradox.
We want it to be fair.
So we make it equal.
Same criteria.
Same rubrics.
Same timelines.
And yet… deep down we know: treating everyone the same is not the same as treating everyone fairly.
On March 11, I’ll be in Amsterdam, joining a small group of school leaders at the International School of Amsterdam for an in-person conversation about assessment, inclusion, and what it really means to support growth in schools.
I’ll be sharing a perspective that has been shaped by years of working inside real schools, with real constraints: respectfully unequal treatment.
When we move away from one-size-fits-all approaches, assessment can shift:
👉 from control to clarity
👉 from standardisation to professional judgement
👉 from measuring to supporting growth
This won’t just be a keynote. The day will be a conversation with peers who are wrestling with the same questions.
If you’re a school leader who wants assessment to serve learning — not the other way around — you’re very welcome to join us.
