Rob, what makes your approach different?

influencing the circumstances Aug 16, 2025

"Rob, what makes your approach different from other consultancy firms who just train educators to change the way they teach?"

I was asked this today. My answer?

We don't tell educators to change.

We influence their circumstances so they

want to change themselves — and feel equipped to do so.

Because learning isn’t something you deliver to people. It’s something that happens

between them.

For us, that means we stop focusing on top-down instructions and start creating the conditions for growth to emerge naturally.

🌱 Instead of forcing a rigid plan, we help teams build a shared vision. 🤝 Instead of just transferring knowledge, we foster genuine connection and collaboration (Relatedness).

💡 Instead of highlighting flaws, we build on existing strengths to grow confidence (Competence).

🚀 Instead of telling people what to do, we create space for them to take ownership (Autonomy).

And here’s the most important part:

This isn't just about how we support teachers. It's the exact same way we should be supporting our learners.

Stop asking: "Is this student motivated?" Start asking: "Have I created circumstances where motivation can flourish?"

A few minutes ago, I asked myself if I should put this on the allLearners.org website as a core belief. I decided to test it here first.

What do you think? Does this resonate?
