Improving your performance as a team is very important. But reflecting on your performance as a team, and agreeing on improvements, is a hard job.
All of us have been in these meetings: The idea is to reflect on the teams' performance, and set future goals to get standards up.
But, only a couple of people are talking.
When it comes to goal setting, they are if you’re lucky debating - could have been arguing - about how to go forward.
And the rest of the team is listening, hoping it will end soon, so they can go back to their routine. These meetings take hours and at the end you still don’t have a solution or clear path towards future improvement.
Introducing the 5-Minute Silent Reflection Strategy!
Developed with my team, this strategy is already helping schools streamline their reflection processes, turning talk into tangible progress.
One of the school leaders we work with told us,
'This really helps me and my team improve on a daily basis, with just a little effort.'
An often-heard response from teachers is:
'Wow, I can also easily use this for self-reflection.'
The 5-minute Silent Reflection Strategy helps, in our case, schools, but it could help others as well.
Adapt our reflection strategy and you and your team:
→ Get clarity on what’s going well, building a team vibe where people are ready to go the extra mile for each other.
→ Identify improvement points with a clear focus, so everyone knows exactly where to channel their efforts, making growth a shared mission.
→Improve daily, strengthening confidence across the team as everyone feels they’re contributing to something bigger.
→Track improvement over time, capturing milestones that not only impress stakeholders but also create a sense of pride and accomplishment within the team.
The core of the strategy: One small step each day, leads to huge progress over time!
Do you want to embrace this strategy?
We tell you all about it in a mini course we’ve developed. We also show you some examples of Silent Reflection Forms we use, based on our allLearners Building Blocks. Forms you can use as well, or use as an example for your own version.
